About Rob Preuss

Preuss started his first band at age 10. At 15, he joined Canadian new wave band ‘Spoons’, often requiring a parental consent form before club owners allowed him to play gigs. The band became an international radio sensation and garnered two gold records.

Preuss later joined Honeymoon Suite, who had a US Top 40 hit with “Feel It Again”, won a Juno award, and toured North America, Europe and Asia.

At 23, Preuss set his sights on musical theatre in both Toronto and Broadway, playing numerous shows, including Beauty and The Beast, Phantom of The Opera, Tommy, and Miss Saigon.

For 15 years he played and conducted Mamma Mia! and was associate musical supervisor for the 2013 Grammy-winning ‘Once The Musical’ on Broadway.

Rob is also noted for coaching Rami Malek on piano as Malek prepared for his role as Freddie Mercury in the film Bohemian Rhapsody.
